Ebay 8900 No Valid Sim Card problem

I've done alot of searching and this seems to be asked alot without a definite answer.

I purchased an 8900 of ebay that was supposed to be unlocked from T-Mobile UK, however it simply says invalid sim card -sos mode with the several sim cards tried. I've tried to check or get it unlocked if needed by going to Advanced Options-Sim Card but theres nothing there, just 'No Valid Sim Card'.
I'm trying to use it with an Optus Australia sim. I have nowhere to enter the unlock code I just bought.

I'm a bit stuck and here and am contemplating asking for a refund if I can't get around this but the seller is not responding.

Hi, have you tried typing..."mepd" while on the Sim card screen?

Nothing will show up while you are typing, but after you have finished a screen should appear stating that the sim locks are active or not.

If you get that screen type in.."mep, then press "ALT" and then press 2, if you do this right, a code enter box will appear.

If you manage to get this box up, give me your IMEI, and MEP codes in a pm, and I will sort you out an unlock code mate.

Thanks for the help guys, once I entered MEPD on sim card menu it all came up. I bought a code of ebay already now it's working. I really appreciate your getting back.
Cheers
