how to change venderID and welcome logo on 9000?? - GSM-Forum

hi, everyone,, im a newbie here,,,so glad to be here

a couples of days ago,,,, i bought a new blackberry bold 9000 from a local seller,,,, no box ,, only the unlocked cellphone and the charger,,,,,,

actually,, im in canada,,, but,,, after checking the imei and vendor id:215, looks like ,the phone comes from ""215 Telefonica_Venezuela"",,

im thinking to change the vendor to Rogers,,,,

how could i do????

already download the MML and install the .NET 2.0

but , there is no way to find the instruction how to change vendor and welcome logo,,

i read some highligted post,, almost all of them are about unlock issues,,

anyone here can kindly help me to change the vendor info and welcome logo

had better with some pics , and VSM for Rogers,,,,, thx alot

I believe this can be done via the MFI loader........ You will need the phone OS that you want to use, you can search for this via google...... and you will also need either the VSM file for the carrier you want to brand it to........... search the web using google for VSM files....... or you can use the VSM file that should be in C:\MML, check all the directories, there should be a VSM file in there...... then follow the instructions on this link...

He does a fairly nice job of explaining the operation..... I recommend you read through the procedure & anything that brings up questions, you address & resolve BEFORE attempting anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know it works, because I bricked a BRAND NEW BOLD, and through various searches on the error messages I was getting, I was able to bring it back, and it is functioning well NOW!!!!!!! But I had a long road & if I have followed the instructions in the LINK to the letter, I would have had a better time doing the unbranding.... IT DOES work!!!!!
