| The real 100% deal on changing LCD versions I am a long term lurker on this site and I have taken COUNTLESS tips from it.I just want to give back. Many people have been asking about changing LCD versions. For example 8520 v7, change to v.5. It is simple and easy. Do not listen to these wankers offering software. I will give you the straight answer. For models 8520, 9300 , 9700 and above, all you do is insert the wrong version LCD. reinstall the software. when you fire it up it will look like wrong LCD. Whrn it gets halfwat through the restore you will see your screen comes to life. It is simple, simple, simple. I have repaired 9300's with LCD from 8310 It will not work with older models (9630, 8900, 9530) But newer models (8520, 9700, 8780, 9000, ) just restore to newest one. Very easy. |

| Also on 8520 the LCD models are 005, 007 and in some cases 010. On OLDER models 8310 sometimes the will be 005 but usually 001, 002. These older model LCD work fine. I have taken 002 LCD out of 8530. Put it in. Lights up white. Then restore sofware and it works. ANother key is it must be a very new OS you are installing. At this poirt the newest, newestnewest. |
