setting up of unlocked 8830 - GSM-Forum

i've just ulocked my 8830WE using the MPE2 code bought from ebay. now my sim card status is showing inactive. how can i set up my phone so i can sent/receive a msg? which network should i select GSM/GLOBAL/1XEV? if i choose GLOBAL/1XEV and tried to sent a msg it says no message service configured. if i tried calling it will hook me up to a verizon recorded msg saying my phone is not activated. and if i choose GSM, there will not be any reception at all even i tried searching for it. pls help

PS: i'm using a GSM singtel sim card from singapore

Am having same issue, when you insert a gprs activated it shows only gsm signal , with other sim its sos only. When you check mepd network inactive.
