SIM Swap Detected

Recently bought a Bold 9700, everything works fine; except when I change the SIM card.
The following screen appears:

http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/354/capture63913.jpg

Additional Information:
BlackBerry Bold 9700 T-Mobile, but is unlocked.
Version 5.0.0.979 (O2 UK).
SIM cards that I use: Oi, TIM Brazil, T-Mobile (USA)

My question is: how to have no need to wipe my BlackBerry every time I switch SIM cards?
It is possible to disable that?

Back up your information, and do a fresh install, hopefully that will cure it.

What do you mean with "do a fresh install"?
"LOADER /NOJVM" is that what you mean?

*I'm wiping it right now.

No luck. I wiped the BlackBerry, used LOADER /NOJVM, put my TIM Brazil SIM normal, but when I put the T-Mobile SIM the message reappeared.
Never seen that happen and also does not occur with my old Bold 9000.
What may be the problem?

Have you tried "Wiping" with JL cmder?

That should get rid of anything lurking deep in the memory of the phone.

Make sure when you reload the OS that the "Vendor.xml" file has been removed from the folder on your PC.

Try using a different OS from the one you are currently trying.

Fingers crossed that it helps.

I tried version 6 (9700M_PBr6.0.0_rel1202_PL6.6.0.50_A6.0.0.344), which was leaked onto the internet ( http://rapidshare.com/files/428498773/9700_OS6_334.exe ).
It did not work very well.

http://img823.imageshack.us/img823/4444/testess.jpg
http://img44.imageshack.us/img44/820/versionq.jpg

I swapped the SIM cards, no more issue. No message saying "SIM Swap Detected". However, the OS 6 it's not usable. At least not the one that I downloaded.

I'm going back to version 5 (9700AllLang_PBr5.0.0_rel1607_PL5.1.0.177_A5.0.0.9 79_O2_UK).

Maybe I'll go back to a version supported by T-Mobile.

Any other ideas?

In last case, I'll sell the BlackBerry to a friend of mine, he uses only one carrier.

Well at least you have some signs of life again, which is a good thing, .

Try and find the most stable version available, and give that a go.

If all else fails, make sure you get a good price off your friend, .

I tried the following versions:
9700M_PBr5.0.0_rel680_PL5.1.0.116_A5.0.0.423_Oi
T-Mobile_BlackBerry_Bold_9700_5.0.0.714

Without success.

I tried version 6 (9700M_PBr6.0.0_rel1202_PL6.6.0.50_A6.0.0.344) again.
Same problem as before.

Going back to version 5 (9700AllLang_PBr5.0.0_rel1607_PL5.1.0.177_A5.0.0.9 79_O2_UK).

I think I will have to sell it.

Anyway, thank you for trying to help me!

FINALLY DID IT!
But only in version 6.
The problem occurred in version 6 was caused by T-Mobile's theme; once I deleted .cod files ("net_rim_theme_tmobile_BlackBerry6_480x360b.co d" and "net_rim_theme_tmobileeu_BlackBerry6_480x360b.cod" ) before updating the BlackBerry and done, no issue.

No more black/white screen and most important, no more "SIM Swap Detected".

Now I'm using version 6 and being able to swap SIM cards freely.

Thank you so much for your help.

Good news for you, but not for your friend.

I bet he thought he was going to get his hands on your phone, .

That's why I am a strong believer in de-branding handsets, to get rid of all the rubbish the service providers bundle in with the OS.

Glad you got it sorted in the end.

Maybe I'll sell him my "old" Bold 9000.

As soon as I acquire more experience with BlackBerries I intend to de-brand it.
BTW, it is possible to re-brand it? Just in case I **** it up.

I have a BOLD 9000, and I LOVE IT

I take it by the **** you mean break it, .

I would leave well alone the debranding for now, unless you know what you are doing, because you could **** it very easily.

The earlier phones such as the 83XX series are very easy to debrand using MFI Multiloader, but your 9700 is a lot more complex with its security.
