Sorry for the noob question, but is there any GPS software that works on the iPhone that does not require the internet to work? (must have the maps included)

Thank you, but these apps do not have any preloaded maps... they still need google map (internet access).

i would like to use my iPhone exactly as i would use a normal GPS (with ni internet access)... is that possible?

Yes you can do it you need iPhone 3G GPS. But the directions are only available in certain area. But locating you can tracking you is available everywhere!!
