Nc 9.000

New NC v9.000, junk free:

http://www.2shared.com/file/8367725/...C90001637.html

This is a cabinet file made by hand, instead of the original TT one which is not available yet (probably the link is deliberately/ridiculously concealed though it should be in the public domain).

It is fully supported by dsa.exe; the recommended mode is x40.

(It saddens me to note that the CF card is still not supported by the kernel though this was not the case in the past - up until v8.370/v8.417 included).

New Speed Camera's & Meta.txt!!!

NEW SPEED CAMERA'S & META.TXT FILE - 12-10-09

Courtesy of The Maverick

Just a quick tip: the .ver files are not needed to enable the use of the speed cams Thanks to Tendriver.

These Cameras will work for any map covering these countries.
Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, UK & USA.

To install:
You don't need the PNA or META from a map.
What you do need is:
Download EasyUseTools (Keygen).
The two files .VER and .Ov2 for each camera (copied into) "insert_meta_from_Map_here"
A meta.txt with the meta code for the cameras in Progs folder
Your device ID
Click on the command program called "RunMeforDCT"
Select normally 1 (enter)
Select normally 1 again (enter)
Type in your Device ID (enter)
Close the "RunMeforDCT" window
Copy the VER, Ov2 and newly created DCT files from "insert_meta_from_Map_here" folder into your map.

(Installation instructions thanks to Rytenuff)

PLEASE NOTE: These Camera Files are NOT like normal POI's, for more information on this and also to check to see if your camera's work, check this post: http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/show...postcount=3348

PS. There are many new patching tools now to choose from that are very easy to use that you can find on this thread.

Enjoy & Please show your Appreciation!!!

Sir Howie

If you have not already, try putting in a Patched ttsystem file, should do the trick if all else has been done correctly.

New: an improved algorithm in the automatic memory savings area.

I strongly recommend to all to reinstall their NC (rerun dsa.exe taking care to redo the patching from scratch, that is to erase first the corresponding dsa_navcore.xxxx.zip old package - it's next to the source TT CAB file) and also erase the folder xxxx on their device main storage, where xxxx is equal to the NC version number, e.g. for NC v9.000, xxxx will be 9000 (no dot).

I installed NC9000 on my TT720 and it does not boot anymore. Since I installed on top of NC560, I am going to delete everything and resinstall again. Below is what I saw:

Actually, the CF option, even if selected, it won't produce any effects on a go 720 or on any device unless it has an HDD.
(but re-patch without it anyway - and for the future)

So, you might still be in trouble... bootloader trouble?!

I always use the CF option but will stop from now on. I did put back 8560 and it still does not work. The version I read is 5.5257 - should I change it to 5.5258 and run patch?

Mathias,

This is very strange. The file bootloaderversion.txt has 5.5229 but system has 5.5257

Mathias,

NO, the version automatically displayed by dsa.exe is already increased by 1.
5.5257 is the next version to be used (NOT 5.5258, it's pointless to increase by 2 when 1 will suffice).

Follow the steps in the post above. Use the "system" file from cabinet v8.560 or even an earlier one, from cabinet v8.370.

THESE CAMS ARE A COMBINATION OF MY OWN SUBSCRIPTIONS TO TOMTOM AND THOSE COMPILED BY THE MAVERICK, ALL CREDIT FOR THESE CAMS GO TO THE MAVERICK FOR THE TIRELESS WORK HE DOES WITHIN THE TOMTOM COMMUNITY AND FOR THE HARD WORK HE PUTS INTO COMPILING AND UPDATING THE META.TXT FILES

please note
ALWAYS make a backup of your tomtom before you tinker with it. either by using tomtom home or just by copying the entire contents of your memory card or device to your pc.

Ok, so which sets can you use with which maps? This should help some peoples who's geography lessons were over their heads. It is not exclusive and was done at a point when not all maps existed, so no apology is made for inaccuracies or incompleteness. If you object to my sense of humour, tough. It is me, pay for the cams yourself and stop winging if I upset you.

========================================

THE FOLLOWING IS A NOTE FROM MSUBEDAR AND THE CREDIT FOR IT IS RIGHTLY HIS.

ALSO NOTE
These Camera files I post up here are NOT POI's.... On most new Navcore's you cannot see them as a POI (However, on some older versions I have seen them visible as a POI), As these are original TomTom files, your tomtom NC will read them as originals after they have been patched to your device so it does not need to show them as a POI. Your TomTom will know what to do with them and automatically will add a warning beep etc which is something you can choose and change to which beep you want etc. BUT AGAIN, THESE FILES ARE NOT RECOGNIZED AS A POI. (For example if you also use SCDB Camera files or PocketGPS Camera's, you will notice that they are available as POI's so you have the normal settings available to you to change if you wish.)

Once the files have been patched to your device (.dct files created) then just put all the files in your map folder (.ver file not needed but no harm is done if you also put them in).

To check if they work: (Tip: I would just switch off any other camera files you may have in the POI section like PGPS or SCDB Camera's to avoid confusion while testing)

Create a route where you know you will be going past a Camera (To be sure, create the route so you are on the correct side of the road, in the same direction the Camera is facing) and in Route Summary, do a Demo of the Route (at 500% is fine) and if the camera shows up whilst its on the Demo and it beeps then you know everything is working.

HOPE THIS HELPS

New: a last touch to the memory saving algorithm that handles an unlikely case of storage shortage.

And, for convenience, in one place, my previously posted link to the new v9.000 NC cabinet file:

http://www.2shared.com/file/8367725/...C90001637.html

Together, the above links would set anyone to the road of v9 success! :)

dsa8310 10-14-2009 13:13

@mathiaskt:

Judging from your info:

a) you had a working v8.560 nc of bl equal to 5.5229 on your external 8GB SD card.
b) you made a nc v9.000 installation on the 8GB card, but it does not boot; the new bl was flashed into the device.
c) however, the internal card (2GB) is still booting (the official nc) and there is a new bootloader 5.5256 on device.

If a+b+c are true, then the new bl 5.5256 (that came with nc v9.000) does not support 8GB cards.

Fortunately, you can go back to a bl supporting 8GB cards, with dsa.exe.
The recipe is in post #10.

(you may do an extra test first: back-up your internal card and install on it nc v9.000; it should boot from there)
