I guess it has to do with the contents of flash memory (/mnt/flash/*) which needs to be cleaned.

I avoid over-patching, if there is a workaround available, I prefer it.
Finally, I tried to install again 8.396 and it works.
So I tried to upgrade with 8.398 and everything works now.
So weird... So it's good

Thank you.

Just for my knowledge, what are the contents of /mnt/flash partitions ?
Is the ttsystem copied on it or always used from HDD ?

I added the --no-backup-if-mismatch switch to the patch command, to suppress backups which were consuming RAM.

ot: battery replacement tt720

it seems my battery 'had it', after o/night charge from main charger it only lasts literally minutes, any tips, do or don't for battery replacement?

I see them listed on **** around $15/20, if anyone has any advice/suggestion please let me know

if I don't replace battery, just relay on external power, are there any downsides ?

thanks

I'm not sure how reliable their data is, I have used in the past my unlisted/unsupported phones, and, worked well.

Does not matter but you should take the 9.430, the 9.450 is identical and only has added support for asian maps and languages.

TT don't list every 'phone that is made. That doesn't mean that their data is unreliable only that they haven't tested it yet.
If your 'phone isn't listed then it isn't in their data base to be unreliable. If it is in their list of tested 'phones and they said a feature would/wouldn't work and you found that it didn't/did, then you could say their data was unreliable. Obvious really.

No, as TT still has not presented the source code for NC9.
Only NC8 offers MB.

Anyone could check things out, using the BT Console with a v9.430 kernel.
Execute:

# ln -sf /bin/busybox /sbin/mkswap
# ln -sf /bin/busybox /sbin/swapon
# ln -sf /bin/busybox /sbin/swapoff
# dd if=/dev/zero of=/mnt/sdcard/swap bs=1024k count=16
# mkswap -c -v1 /mnt/sdcard/swap
# swapon /mnt/sdcard/swap

If no error after the last command, then swapping is enabled in the v9.430 kernel. Let me know if that's the case, though I doubt it...

I can't run the console with my ONE. It always crashes leaving me with no input.

Could someone else with access to the console try those commands on a recently published v9 Navcore?

Regards and thanks,
