It should be nice if a copy of SkinChooser could be used as an icon in SdkRegistry wihtout really reskin it so without showing the graphical stuff (like calibrating and skin choose but with the reboot at the end). I tried some things like: #!/bin/sh # killall ttn 2>/dev/null while [ -n "`pidof -s ttn`" ]; do true; done echo "V" >/dev/watchdog killall mp3d clmapp ttpnpd ttsserver launchserver 2>/dev/null mount `mount | sed -n 's|\(.*\) on /mnt/sdcard.*(..,\(.*\))|\-o remount,rw,\2 \1 /mnt/sdcard|p` rm -f /mnt/sdcard/settings.dat sync sync /sbin/reboot But of course this didn't work (LOL ). Just tried to using the Skinchooser code with calling 'fb', ts-calibrate' and 'skin'. I presume some crucial code in the other bits of 'fb'/'ts-calibrate'/'skin' are mandatory. Maybe dsa8310 could push me in the right direction? | |

Simply switching to another mode by changing file skins/reskin could be done as in the Restart menu item. But, hey, this is why Skin Chooser was made in the first place, wasn't it? ![]() My advice: select all skins, or go skins, or a few skins of interest at dsa run, and use Skin Chooser to flip between modes if you really want to reconfigure your truck NC. After all, the time consuming reboot phase is unavoidable. --- I may add that reverting to factory default might help too, albeit some things will be lost.

EDIT: Yes, a factory reset helps too, but a lot of work to configure anything again. Last edited by keessie74; 01-04-2013 at 19:58. | |

Yes, go x40, x30, and back to x40.... And if there ain't other bootable modes available, try factory default, or search harder for another bootable mode with access to Skin Chooser.

Really? You should be able to choose a skin which you have selected at DSA install (you know you could select multiple skins at install). As far as I concerned all skins should be available when eventually running up.

As a matter of fact, there is another file settings.dat that could be edited or deleted (not on the main storage). Deleting it would probably be equivalent to factory default. Editing it would require a study of its format, hopefully not very complicated. But I don't have my device at hand. BT Console helps with the task.

I have recently become aware that there is some interest in improving dsa or at least its GUI. So feel free to go ahead and make some terrific skins for dsa (the app), and/or push it to its limits!

For the vehicle profiles I have a few things I suggested in the past to other users first: a) on GO models use one verion internal, one on SD - remove the SD to "switch" b) do a full reset to get the profile selection back, but have not checked if that is still working on the new NC As for modifications: I don't think it is not necessary to make changes to DSA just to get the profile selection working, the tool works geat as it is now. A better way (for the Linux Freaks here) would be to compare this NC to the 9.004 as there you have the vehicle profiles permanently in the menu. It might be a very simply thing that "turns off" the menu icon for it in the Truck NC, and it should be possible to find this bit of code in the 9.004 and apply it to the 9.7

But I don't really understand the fuzz about the profiles as with the standard patched cab and the DSA version I have "Edit Vehicle profile" on page one of the preferences..... So maybe it should in the same place if X20 or X30 emulation is used in DSA? ![]() If not either you are doing something wrong or use the wrong EMU I would say...

keessie: When i did the new rute the navcore ask me about the vehicle and then i can change it !!! Good news http://i56.tinypic.com/15eisf7.jpg DSA: Something strange when you test the original CAP, then then the navcore shows 2 panels status bar at the old way but if you do a DSA nav then it have 3 like the news 9 i think this is because you use the kernel 9 and works but the real 9700 nav have only 2
