Is there a version of this 9700 truck navcore for 32mb TomTom ONE that allows the use of computer voices? I have the 32mb version running with 11mb free memory, but when choosing a computer voice the unit remains silent. Any suggestions gratefully appreciated.

Try using HS and K50 combined with this LoquendoTTS.zip unzipped to your storage.
Seek further advice from ONE owners.

I've tried patching DSA NC 9700, with and without K50 is always in two panels.

How do 3 panels?.

Thank you and greetings.

@dsa8310

Thanks for the reply, I have now tried that option but without any success. I guess I will have to stick with the recorded voices. The navcore does run smoothly on the TomTom ONE though with free memory varying between 7mb and 11.9.mb as far as I can tell

Good news. With x50 skin it is possible to change to vehicle in the preferences. So I leave my x40 device in x50 emu.

The One with 32MB ram is not made for use with computer voices.
But you can alway,s can give it a try. It runs acceptable on my one.

TomTom GO 700!

Hi!

I've downloaded the latest dsa tools package to update my friend's Tom Tom Go 700, and I'd like to get it working with the dsa tool as my head's been going round and round for hours in a frustrating series of reboot loops, white and black screens of death, gibberish tiddly white writing and even a big white cross on a black background!!!

1) Can 9.465 Navcore be used in the GO 700? - if so can someone post a link to the recommended one please?

2) What emulation is recommended for the 700 series that will give the best speed/features?

3) I've got the BBC Radio 2 voices and copied them to the voices folder on the TT but it refuses to recognise them - both the GPS Underground Forum and the Charity CD I bought state they don't need activating - what might be wrong?

Many thanks,

Chris Williams

DSA Tools repeatedly fails!!!

Hi

I've just tried running the latest dsatools package and the installation/patching routine is a complete failure with error messages such as

"fatal error - couldnt open cabextract - failed to open signal pipe for forked process - Windows error 461 - hangup 3598 etc., and I get a long series of almost identically-worded messages related to similar other files
before it finally bogs out with "Failed" on the interface screen!

All these files are present in the dsa program files folder, so why is the dsa tool failing to execute?

I've used the latesr available Java Runtime from the dsa's instructions page, and followed the instructions to the letter - its almost two years since I used dsa tools, but I don't remember having this problem before - the patch button both installed and patched the navcore correctly!

Can Member dsa8310 shed any light on this please?

Chris Williams

You must first follow the dsa installation procedure to your PC, as described in the ReadMeFirst.html file.
Start by unzipping dsa-2December2012.zip to the Desktop. Then enter folder Desktop\dsa.app and start (double click) the dsa.msi installer within, etc.

Go 700 should work well, even with CF and MB enabled, with the latest NCs, v9.485 or even v9.700 from post #4297; select the usual GO modes, Self included. You probably won't need HS, and K50 is enabled by the CF&MB combination on a v9 NC.

...
If however things still aren't OK with the dsa installation, switch to a different Windows/PC, use a Mac or a Linux machine...

Do you have the Cab file stored under the same name you used for adding to the cabs.txt for DSA??

There was never a Home DLL available for the Truck NC, so you won't get it for the new NC either

The 9.700.cab file should be opened with CAB/Open/Return regardless of its location.
But, if you place it in the same folder where the other cabinets are downloaded (folder that holds file cabs.txt after dsa installation to PC), then you may add it as an entry to the list of cabinets too (either by editing file cabs, txt offline or by editing any cabinet list entry while running dsa - to the short name 9.700.cab).

@holyheadx

Thanks for that file, it works a treat.

Unfortunately this navcore and v901 map still wants to send an 11' wide truck down an 8' wide lane. Pointless sending the info to TomTom though as they never take any notice of the corrections that I have sent in.
