Happy new year to all. I discovered that, when my GO 910 re-boots for any reason, there is an infinit re-boot loop.... When I connect my GO via the USB cable to my PC, and i rename the directoty containing the map, when the GO reboots, a map selection appears on the screen and if I select the WCE map, the GO starts normaly and the navigation is anable again. The DSA tool is from the 8th november 2012 with K50 and X40 and the NC is V 9.160. If i connect my GO on my PC, TThome starts and when MAPSHARE is performed, I have to rename the directory of the map before re-booting the GO!.... What can I do to fix the problem? I use NC V 9.160 to anable RDS-TMC to work on my GO 910 in X40 emulation to get the voice control. Thanks in advance for your help.

This is what I usually do with my own go 910: 1- first of all, get the newer dsa-2December2012.zip file from post #4244. 2- when getting a new map (BTW, v900 maps are available) I transfer the old mapsettings.cfg file to it, then I connect to TTHome/Operate my Go and I make a fake edit of any of the favorites. A go around this issue would be transferring all the favorites into a POI file - one by one - then removing all favorites. 3- since I use the CF flag, I get the currentmap.dat file deleted automatically at each cold boot, and because I always keep at least two maps, the map selection screen appears - which slows down things properly for my SSD/CF storage. A regular go 910 with HDD does not need it, but it could be enabled in file skins/ttn - see posts #4247 and #4248. Try only 1 & 2, you don't need 3. Last edited by dsa8310; 01-15-2013 at 12:29.

Would a faster CF card help or is that a general problem of adaptor use with a CF? Only asking as I recently bought a bigger CF for my camera and noticed that multishots are not only a little bit faster but also that the cam takes now 7 pics instead of the 4 I got before. From memory I know the original HDD TT used was not really what you could call fast, compared to modern flash media.

I really don't know. Could be at driver level. Every single time I put back the HDD instead of a true SSD and later a CF card with adapter, all issues disappear... And the extra SSD/CF configurations which take advantage of the faster storage (see file skins/ttn with CF enabled) don't make any difference with or without. That is why I make the trick with two maps and deletion of file currentmap.dat, and I use the special most compatible v9 kernel. But no need of anything if the HDD is in place... (except for the mapsettings.cfg transfer between maps, which should be handled as suggested above) I also believe that v8 kernels are OK (with SSD/CF), and that trouble started with the v9 and v8-v9 transitional kernels.

@dsa8310, Thank you for your answer, I will use your recomandations to see, if that help me not to use my iphone to guide me when my TOMTOM GPS re-boots because it's endless, and I don't have PC in my car to rename the directory map to restart the map selection process at re-boot. I am very surprised to be alone to have this problem on earth! Thanks again. I will give you the result after applying your recomandations.

Another tip: restart your go 910 while NOT put in the live cradle (fed with DC). After reboot (and eventual map selection), then connect it to the cradle. I actually wait until I get to the initial screen. Same rule when switching it on (hibernation wake-up): first switch it on, and only after a few moments put it in your car cradle. (extra precautions could be necessary because of my CF card though) Last edited by dsa8310; 01-15-2013 at 21:08.
