2 maps of the same area.....

What will happen if you have 2 different maps, eg. a low detailed map and a high detailed map, covering the same area in mapsource, and you then upload them to your gps?

Will you get the best of both?

Regards

Hello All

After reading and reading, I still need your help.
The pacient is Nok E90. I'm not a total nerd, but maybe have too many expectations that everything should go smooth (I know, buy a license in that case )
So. I've got a 2 Gb card, installed through data connection GMXT v10.60. Basemap is working. Then I installed mapsource on the PC just for seeing some details on the local maps as one of the forum members explained. Worked like a charm. Found europe maps in .msi format (CN....msi). I've installed cn.msi, it was OK. Used garmin unlocker to unlock all of the maps, it went ok to a certain point after that has got frozen.
I've selected a bunch of maps, transferred to the phone, ok.
Generated sw.unl file, put in place, choose the built in GPS in XT application after restart, but i cannot get a hook on any sat.
If I go to the GPS signal icon, the GPS Information page is telling me the Unit ID: "SD card ID" then on another line "Assisted GPS".
Is this normal?

I have started Nokia Maps before and it hooked up OK after 3-4 minutes.

Look like nokia E71, can use garmin. We only need to unlock it. If i am right, i will purchase the E71 and try it out. Previously, i though the build in GPS in E71 can not work with Garmin.

Please correct me if i am wrong. Thank you.

I just installed the program on my N82 and I'm in the process of waiting for the NA 2009 maps to finish downloading. Does anyone have a link for the entire Japan map? I did a search on the forum and couldn't come up with a link. Thanks.

(Repost, this might be a more correct location)
Really tried to follow all the right steps.. Copied the Card ID and created the 2 files from both map and divice key and ran them through notepad etc... After all this:

It still seems that Garmin can't locate my internal GPS. Have you experienced this before? I have a regular N95. Does it use bluetooth to connect to external GPS? I said now to bluetooth activation when Garmin asks. (Tried yes also). But Garmin can't connect to me GPS it seems. Within settings/system it is set to "remote" GPS. I can't switch it though. When bluetooth is switched off it simply tells me to switch it on. When it isn't turned on it says: "No GPS devices found".

What can I do? (My Garmin version is 4.20.20s60.9)

N95 step by step

can anyone post a step by step to get this running.
A - Z walk through, through the whole process.

i have read back through the other posts and not really understanding how to do this.

installing software to phone, no problem. i would run it and it could not locate a gps. is there something wrong?

next, i know there a keygens that produce the unit id and map unlock? do i just input my card id # that i obtained from the about tab??? what is the whole process of doing this??? i know reading through some posts you have to make a couple files or so

as for the maps, i have downloaded the software garmin mobile xt and the maps from here - http://symbianapplication.blogspot.c...h-america.html

i decompressed all files and came up with this file (gmapsupp.img) according to the details it says "ready without id" ? i guess i would have to transfer this directly to my garmin directory

next would i really need to bother with mapsource if i already have a map (it's the link above NT 2009 usa & canada)

any help with this would be greatly appreciated...
theres just tons of pages to go through for N95 setup

thank you
