Thanks for the help, but I have been told that I need the IMEI to unit ID calculator first and than I can use the generated ID with the Keygen.

Again, If I am understanding it right, a 2 stage process for 8GB n95;

1: Calculate unit ID from phone IMEI with some calculator (IMEI to Unit ID calc)
2: Calculate the unlock code with the GXT Keygen (supplied above) to generate the long code to save as the SW file.

I am totally confused, is this really a 2 stage process for the 8gb like the way I wrote????

I think you might have not have understood me. In the Keygen that you just posted, you can only enter 10 digits, try it yourself. The IMEI is a 15 number figure, you cant even enter it directly in the space, it wont take more than 10 numbers.

I have not tried the installation on 8GB N95, so I dont know when I go to the settings>about to get the "card id", What will it show there since there is no card in 8gb N95. I was told by one of the members that it will show my IMEI number there.

I guess it comes down to the question that once I run the initial installation and get to the point to make the unlock SW files, WHAT IS the 8GB n95 going to show in the "about" screen,,,,,,,,,,,,IMEI number or a device ID / Card ID even though it does not have a card.

BU, see I got confused from this post, I thought that the settings>about screen was going to show my IMEI number in 8gb N95 since it does not have a card, and the IMEI can not be fed directly into the Keygen. It has to be converted into the device ID first by the unfound calculator.

Without stating the obvious and I don't mean to be rude but why don't you just try it and see for yourself?

dude, you r kool, not rude at all, actually I was thinking about getting my reg N95 exchanged with the 8GB n95 and that requires me to send mine back before they send me the replacement.

I just wanted to be sure that I would be able to install GXT on the the 8GB other wise I would not get it exchanged and stick with what I have.

I know it was obvious...........sorry about not specifying earlier.

You can use converter to get unit id only if it does not show you one.
