I have transfered Auto Drive Hellas 160EN from Mapsource to SD-card and it is working. I didn't need an old version. I simulated a route on my nuvi and it is OK. So it is a good mapsource map.

Let us all share our maps

Requirements for maps to be included in the list:

1) All maps must be MAPSOURCE versions - not gmapsupp.img.

2) The map must be routable, and may not be prepared from a gmapsupp.img map.

3) New / Other maps to be included in the list must be in a better resolution than the existing maps.

If you have a map, or have knowledge of a map that meets these requirements, please post the link here.....

What is the advantage of using Mapsource?
I think the MapSource program is pretty much a "must have". In addition to the ability to load maps, the MapSource software has a lot of other capabilities, for example:
- Maybe you are lucky. Maybe you can have up till 6 maps on your phone at the same time eg. gmapbmap.img (Basemap), gmapprom.img (internal map, used when you have US or EU maps), gmapprom1.img (internal map, used when you have both US and EU maps), gmapsupp.img (Supplemental maps, will be overwritten when you add new maps), gmapsup2.img and gmapoem.img (For OEM Company). But with MapSource you can have as many as you want!!!!! You just merge more maps together so they will appear as one file (gmapsupp.img) on your device
- See all the Cities, selected map details and POI's on your computer
- Set up routes and find out distances. Helps you get an overall picture
- Create and transfer waypoints to your device
- Backup your waypoints from your device to a database (*.gdb) file on your computer.
- Find the lat/long positions of waypoints.
- Add description comments to your favorites/waypoints, like addresses and phone numbers.

Installation of software on a phone (Symbian S60 3rd Edition):
Install Garmin Mobile XT Free Basemap: http://www8.garmin.com/software/Garm...emap_4xxxx.exe
Install Garmin Mobile XT Support Files: http://www8.garmin.com/software/Garm...iles_4xxxx.exe
Install Garmin Mobile XT for Symbian S60 3rd Edition: http://www8.garmin.com/software/Garm...tion_50020.exe
Execute GarminMobileXT.sis on your phone. It is located in the root of your phone or SD-card.
Start the application.
Select settings for text language, voice, unit and for Garmin Online.
Exit the application.
Open the file called GarminDevice.xml. It is located in the Garmin folder.
Look for <Id>XXXXXXXXXX</Id>
Use the keygenerator (http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/show...04&postcount=4) to generate an unlock key for the application, and save the key in a file called SW.UNL (not SW.UNL.txt) using Notepad. The file should be saved in the Garmin folder.

Installation of maps:
Download version 6.13.7 of MapSource: http://www8.garmin.com/software/MapSource_6137.exe (Don't use the latest version - it is not compatible with all the maps).
Follow the following trick to hack the setup file so that it can be used to install MapSource clean and fresh without any prior installation of MapSource.
Unpack or extract the content of MapSource_6137.exe downloaded using WinRAR.
From the extracted files, run MAIN.msi.
Then, run Setup.exe.
Note: The sequence to execute Main.msi and then Setup.exe is important to avoid “Previous MapSource not found!” error.
Garmin MapSource now installed.
Download the map you want from here.
Install the map using the file called something with XXXXXX_ENU.msi - Not the Setup.exe - This will install the map only.
Launch MapSource and unlock the map, use a key generator which you can find here: http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/show...04&postcount=4
Enter your GPS's ID number and mapid in the key generator, and you have the unlock-code.
In Mapsource, click Utilities > Manage Map Products.
Select the Unlock Regions tab, and click Add.
Enter your 25-character unlock code and then a comment, if desired. Click OK.

Then you transfer the part of the map (e.g. Spain) you would like to your GPS.
If you would like to have more maps, e.g. Garmin City Navigator Europe NT 2009 and Garmin City Navigator North America NT 2009 you can combine the maps and transfer them to you GPS.

Drive hellas 1.6 is a file *.exe that don't install in mapsource. If you want it is possible extract and *.img file and it work if you copy on sd or in gps. I want install it in mapsource software because i like do only 1 file supp from many Country maps (Bulgaria, Romania, Slovenia etc....). This is the reason that i try drive hellas full installation for mapsource. If i try it then i can update to version 1.6 with this file. Thanks to all

If you use an img-file to make a Mapsource installation, you can not use the search function in mapsource....
