Homer Simpson Voice On TOMTOM Hel[ - GSM-Forum

Hello

I have got a Tomtom XL IQ2 with version 9

i downloaded a premium (original) Homer Simpson Voice and when i placed the 3 files into voice folder the icon for the homer simpson was shown on the device

when i click on homer simpsons test voice it says "you do not have usable voice"

so i then used easyusetools

i placed the .meta file in to the map folder, edited the meta.txt file with home simpsons meta and also placed 3 files into the map folder,

i noted my device ID without spaces in DeviceID file

i then clicked on RUNMEFORDCT.exe and it produced a .dct file

i placed all the files including the .dct file into the tomtoms voice folder

but when i go into the voice menu the homer simpson icon is not even displayed on here? (before it did even thou it wasnt working)

when i delete or remove the .dct file from the voice folder home simpersons icon can be seen in the voice folder but it still doesnt work

dont know where am going wrong

any help would be much appericated

P.S yes i have read guides and tutorials but they are not that clear!

Check if you have a .dct file for the voice.
Also you need the correct activation code in the meta.txt.
Do a search for FastActivate on Google, it should have the right codes included.

the meta code for homer simpson was provided with the download so i assume that would work

yes it did create a .dct file

Sorry for the late reply.
If you have a .DCT created the voice should work, however there were some version on the net with non matching numbers in the supporting file (VIF,CHK).
So please check if the numbers in the filename match the numbers inside the other files (can be opened with an editor).
If non matching adjust either the filename(s) or the numbers inside and delete the dct file to be created again.

thank you soo much downunder for your reply, i finally got it working by using fast active as you mentioned earlier

got all my preminum voices working

Homer simpson and snoop dogg are coooool!
