hi m8,

forgive me if i am telling you to suck eggs, but i found out how to do this last year and i had tomtom 6.20 running in my ICN520

i posted it on another torrent site but it gone now, any way this was my tut on how its done....

step 1

spurry05's navman to tomtom6.20

first you need to put activesync on your pc this is in the folder called tools:

Connect your navman to the pc

Open the folder called tools then Pocket Pc Setup

Go to the set up file and click Microsoft.net Installer and tick the box
(this will change it to custom)
Click yes to install compact framework........
When it has completed close the box

now open the folder called Program Files
and COPY all the files in there, then minimise the set up box and go to:

My Computer
Mobile Device
Program Files

and paste the files you have copied into your program files on your navman,
(click ok to converting), when copied close the window.

there are 2 other files in the pocket pc set up folder:

510.exe and 520.exe

Choose The file you require for your navman 510 or 520
there is no difference just one shows as ICN 520 and one as ICN 510 on the menu

rename it to PocketPC.exe

right click and COPY then open :

My computer
mobile device
windows

paste it in to the windows Directory on your navman and then close the window.

Next you need to install Registry Workshop,

Click on set up files and then installer and follow the instructions, when you get the box up that says its expired just click cancel.
Then go to the file named crack and click the regworkshop torchsoft file

Then go to

File (top left corner)
click on Connect to Mobile Device Registry
then click HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and click the init file (in the right hand box)

double click on LAUNCH80

and change the value data to PocketPC.exe

Close the window

Disconnect from the usb lead and you should have a blue screen menu.

(if you dont automatically get the screen then reset your navman by pressing the reset button on top (NOT THE BACK!)

you should now have a menu on your navman)

note if you turn the navman off with the switch on the back
next time it turns on it will wipe everything apart from navman stuff

so never turn off with that switch just use the reset pin on top

right all this is the same as you did to install tt5 but to get the maps to work you need to do this as well:

With Registry Workshop connect to mobile device Modificate value HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
\Explorer\
Shell Folder --->>>"\My Documents" and chanfe it to \Storage Card

right that this bit done now to step 2:

step 2

ok copy all the file in the folder called (tt6 copy to sd card)
and copy them to your sd card i used a cars reader it a lot faster,

now put the sd card back in your navman 510/520,

and click on explorer find you storage card and click the tomtom navigator 6.cab
you will see a new screen with install here in blue press the
round button on your navman and it will install tt6 to your navmav,

BEFORE YOU RUN TOMTOM ON YOUR NAVMAN FOR THE FIRST TIME PLEASE DO THIS NEXT STEP:
To make sure the navman doesn't run slow click config then system and slide the bar
over to the left so the storage memory is being used,,

right your ready to run tt6 so click on the tomtom button follow the set up
and activate the guan map go to automatic activation
enter any code 12 numders of ant thing.and then set up
the gps like so Other Cable NMEA GPS

GPS baud Rate 4800

Serial Cable on SP2:

now change to the gb map thats it you running tt6.00
now thets make it to tt6.20 go to the file call tt6 to tt6.20
and copy this and paste it go to

your navman with activesync program files/navigator and paste it there,

WOot you now got tt6.20.

now we need some voice's copy the voise folder and past it in the
navigator folder like you did with the crack i have only in clueded 1 voice to get you going,

you need to put the zip folder in to navigator folder aswell or post code wont work

thats it your done..

well nearly if you want you can fee up space on your navman and run tomtom of your sd card
i have done this coss if you need to do a hard reset if you dont you will need to do it all
again if you run it of the sd card and do a hard reset you only need to do step 1 again

so to run it off the sd card you need to do this:

Connect your navman to the pc

and in program files you will see the

navigator folder copy this to you sd card and then remove it from your navman
and thats it:

if you do this to run tt6 you need to click the explorer tab find the storage card
and navigator folder and the click the tt hands this will start up tt6

enjoy.......

-----------------------------------------

i hope this helps you out not sure if i can attach the file you need but if you google you will find them and there is a site out there i forget wot its called but its all about navman to tomtom,

this was the easy way no i did the tut again using a diffent way of unlocking it and this works a lot better as you can do a hard rest with out loss of files any way have a go at this first see if you can get it working

and remember back up before you do anything cos if you mess it up you will need the back up.................

I have followed the instructions here (and from a few other places) and now have TomTom 6.02 running on a Navman iCN 520. The storage card is only 256MB so I have had to remove the Navman maps to get the UK TomTom 6.60x map installed. Its all working well, however I have tested doing a full power off and the registry correction that needs applying each time is a little annoying (plus the Navman is not mine and the owner is not too computer literate so might be a problem......). Is there any way to automate this registry change or place a shortcut on the 'desktop' to apply this fix after a full power off.

Cheers

Andy
