tomtom rider v2 device id

just bought this rider v2 off mate but i accidently wiped the sd card , i have tryed to install maps that i have v725 but i need the device id to activate ,when i press reset then power on i get tomtom menu but my device id is 12 characters long and it needs to be 10 so im told,any help would be much appreciated,i dont have the box or paperwork so dont have the code you get with it

1st, plug it into tomtom home and update the firmware
2nd, power on the tomtom
3rd, after it's powered on power off
4th, plug into pc via usb cable or memory card reader and open the ttgo.bif with notepad
5th, look for the line stating unique device id (ABCDE FGHIJ)
