Updating Tomton One problems

Well, after years of using my tomtom one Second Edition and not updating it, I finally decided to update it using the official firmware and tomtom home. Downloaded and installed Home and plugged in my tomtom, the program found it and all was fine. Went to backup first and got an error which was strange, but thought little of it and went to update the device but it said I had no memory free (have never added anything on it). Decided to just leave it and disconected the device. Turned it on when it got off and now it just jams on the giant hand print screen and it won't register with tomtom home. Successfully reset a few times (as in, it made it turn off) but now it won't even respond to that.

What can I do? Thanks in advance

Have you tried a soft reset...you can do this using the reset hole found on the bottom of the unit.

Taken from the Tom Tom site....

Check that the battery is charged properly.
Charge your device for at least 2 hours before trying to turn it on again. Make sure the charging light on your device is on.
Remove the SD card
If your device uses an SD card, remove it.

Reset your device.
Use a straightened paper clip, or something similar, to push the reset button for 15 seconds. See the pictures below for where to find the reset button.

Turn your device on.
Press the On/off button for at least 5 seconds.

Insert the SD card
If your device uses an SD card, insert the SD card.

HTH.
