Im having exact same problem. Change the digitalizer and now after a few minutes of use, the touchscreen stop responding, the power and volume buttons work, but the touch screen doesnt, only after i reboot the phone it work again for a few minutes, then stop working... im assuming its a defective Digitalizer panel

i find out that when the battery overheat it start to overheat also the digitalizer & screen... causing darkness on some parts of the screen and also stop responding at touch... im 80% sure its caused by the heat of the battery when overheat which cause the flex & ribbons cables from the screen and digitalizer to overheat also...

solution....

I need to buy an original LG digitalizer and not the chinnese digitalizer without ribbon cable cover from heat
