Hi,

If this is BB5 phone, you can (unless the firmware is SL3).

Simply when you generate RPL file, tick the 'Load simlock.bin' and
you will get locking RPL file.

To get desired simlock.bin for your network, just connect another bb5
phone that is locked to your network, tick 'Save simlock.bin' and read
info.

Cool

There is another way, you can use WinLock to create simlock.bin, then copy simlock.bin to sd card, and unlock the phone with NoTP.exe, done, and it is free

Does this procedure results in new written unlock codes or are the original operator codes preserved?

Hi,

Yes, new unlock codes are generated and returned. This require the ask file
contain the imei, i think is in the release notes of the logger.

The real time mode do not support this, but if there is sufficient interest,
i can update the server.

I think there should be both options:

For warranty purposes, there should always a chance to unlock just with original simlock table values and original unlock codes preserved.

BTW: Any chance for an option to read out original codes for non-RAPIDO phones?

Hi,

Yes off course, but I don't have time to re-write one and the same thing
100 times just for the fun of it (if you can call this fun at all).

IMHO Genie should always offer some exclusive functions not available with other boxes.

And there is no better solution than to unlock a phone in a manner that NK can't distinguish whether the operator have done it or not.

Hi,

I remember you having always very high requirements, but can't actually
recall of paying for any of them.

You know nothing is impossible, just PM me, make an offer and we will see.

I don't know since when you charge for updates individually?

I think to pay this high price for the device should be enough.

But OK. If I pay you e.g. EUR 1000 would I get the solution exclusively then or would others get it, too?

I don't think that to preserve customers warranty is a very high requirement. It's just a matter of course. And so NCK read should have been implemented from the beginning as preferred unlock method.

Of course the unlock method doesn't care any sunday unlockers - but this guys never buy your box. For them there are much cheaper alternatives available. Zulea tools, Cyclone etc.

No serious phone shop can offer unlocking with the exception of RAPIDO at this time. DCT-4+ is by patch only - so you can't offer this in reality.

And factory simlocked phones with non-original simlock tables are detected in level 3 service. That's just because no service center can charge any warranty work to Nokia without online authorization ID for the phone. And if the warranty check says Factory Simlock Y there can't be a configuration key with the value 2440700000000000

But if Genie would implement NCK read for all BB5 phones - it would be a must have tool for any serious phone shop especially in countries with contract phones always locked like Austria, France, The Netherlands, the U.S. e.g.
