Hi,

On some models product code change is protected. Probably hidden and encrypted in
sec area. If i only had the time to research and do this ;(

Hi,

Not sure if this is applicable to N8, but if you select dead usb flashing in Phoenix,
phone is off, and just manually point to downloaded flash files, you can flash the
phone to this version (make sure is newer than the current one you have) and
new product code will be written by the end of the process.

It's risky anyway, as with any flashing.

Hi,

I haven't tested on every single model, so you must be right. Anyway, its a
good idea to investigate this further.

sure, you can flash any firmware to your N8. Firmware should work, but Product Code is the Factory Product Code

Yes but it could be very risky if the code is not changed before updating frimware for a foreign one? when the code is changed there is almost no risk, isn't it?
thank you.

why should it be risky? in worst case next update with Nokia-Updater will be up to original Productcode.
