(Due to security reasons this is NOT enabled on default!) Do no forget to include your Genie-Universal Serial number in the message!! Please note that in most cases the problem happend because of bad SD-Card content/format. Itīs reconomended to Format the SD-Card on a Windows XP Computer to FAT32 first, and then copy the content to the card. If you need a new SD-Card content, please write an email to [email protected] or contact one of the Product Managers(Zero23, ..::Mobile Smoker::.., John_Doe). Also, if you got an error message when trying to restore your Genie, then donīt worry, just try it 3-4 times until the process goes through. if you still canīt handle it, contact me by ICQ(18034868) and iīll try to give you assistance. IMPORTANT ADDITONAL NOTE: if your Genie was version 186r or later(v191) then you DO NOT need the recovery feature at all!!! If the firmware update fails (whatever the reasons may be) Genie will stay in "Recovery-Mode", you can see that the Genie LCD will turn BLUE(Blue Screen=RecoveryMode) So since your clip is in RecoveryMode(Blue Screen) you can ALWAYS run "UPDATE OS" in Remote-Tools -again and again, as many times as needed to finish the upgrade process. In case the upgrade-process fails all the time, the only reason is bad SD-Card Content/Format. In this case Format the SD-Card on WinXP PC to FAT32 and copy LATEST SD-Card content to the SD-Card. Then simply do the "UPDATE OS" in Remote-Tools again and your clip will be fine! This above is valid for Devices with Firmware v186 or later. Regards, Last edited by John_Doe; 04-26-2010 at 10:57. |
