Reading status in BB5notp

I problem reading status in BB5notp, the unlock work without problem and I can read status after unlock, this I tried on one 5310 express, tonight i tryed on one Nokia 5800 and same problem, could not read status, have not tried to unlock yet, becouse I would like to find problem reading status first.

Any idea what the problem could be ?

Hi,

Do you get invalid simlock or error on reading ?

Hi,

I can think of 3 possible reasons:

1. Simlock is really damaged and the parser failed to process it
2. The phone is not fully booted and some of the commands return garbage
data, thus looks like damaged simlock
3. The phone SL table have some structure that is not supported by the
parser

As you said you read after unlock, i guess the most probable reason is no 2.

The phone goes to local mode, what is "not stabile local mode" either it is in local mode or not ? and it is in local mode, even I have to use external power to make it work.

Thanks

Ok,

BB5 are coded in a way that when NokiaOS in RAP boots, the FBUS task is
started first. So few milliseconds after power on, you can send commands and
get responses. On basic commands you can get responses with valid data.

But command that rely on intertask communication, there will be either error or
bad data due to not fully booted OS.

In simple words, best is to wait 1 minute after power on, to be on the safe side
because even the phone looks working and respond on FBUS, doesn't mean
all is working.

Ok,
I tried to read staus and check with same cable and UFS, and there it work, the only differens is that with Genie I use (together with fbus) also usb, could the problem be with the usb-cable ? to long or other ?

I have to use ext power in both cases, to get it in local mode.

Some time give this with jaf cables and adaptor.
Most problem is from BSI corect resistor value for me.
With 10 pin cable work without problem and from first try.
This in case if phone is OK and don't have problem with simlock area.

Just sugestion, see first if your cable is ok.
And, not keep usb cable and supply conected, here is small bug in hardware, genie crash sometime.
Better is unlock only with power from internal battery.

P.S.
Genie BB5 unlocker is better for now.
All work without problem, stable and quick.
If your hardware(genie box) is ok, only cable or phone problem, not software.
