Shall I buy? Newbie few questions...

Hi

I have been offered genie universal by my supplier. I currently have NS-Pro and Setool box. I have not looked into Nokia unlocking boxes until now.

I have been trying to research and do not really understand how this box works. My questions are below;

1) Ns-pro is very simple to use, is this the same? Just click the model and press unlock? Or is it more like setool with getting rest files etc?

2) Does this support all Nokia models apart from SL3? Does it matter what firmware it is and what does RM-159 etc mean?

3) Is all unlocking free, no logs/credits involved?

4) I dont understand, is this a clip or can you use it with the PC as well? Can you update it if new phones come out?

I would greatly appreciate any help, thanks alot.

1) Unlocking just one button do all = True

2) No, but only PA_SL and PA_SL2. For RM-159, no firmware check required yet.

3) For DCT4Plus, BB5 PA_SL and PA_SL2 is free now

4) It is 2 in 1. Phoenix do the job for all the update and the FTP support with latest phone/model firmware too.

Best Regards

yes sir its easy as 1, 2,3..
1. no need to select model to unlock nokia models
2.yes its support all nokia models except for sl3 ( maybe they wil support in future updates)
rm-159 - product name (afaik)
3, bb5+,SL2,rapido,dct4/dct4+ all unlocking is free
except for dct4+/dct4 imei repair,need logs/credits.
4. yes it is a clip, but you can also use it with pc, for unlocking dct4/+ models
flashing bb5, imei repair, etc...

a very powerful clip.. NO RISK damaging phone certificates while unlocking..

Hi,

Ok you talk about flash patching. In Nokia world there are 2 ways to unlock:

1. Flash patch (bad method of unlock) - phone looses unlock after the user
reflashes the phone

2. Permanent unlock (good method) - phone will be unlocked if you upgrade/
downgrade.

So Genie unlocks like this:

BB5 generation - permanent unlock

DCT4+ - flash patch unlock

But there is no need of 'rest files' - the equivalent in Nokia is partial flashes. Other
boxes unlock like this, Genie will modify the phone firmware on the fly, so
any version (in theory) is supported.

hi, in the unlocking business you will get a lot of nokia handsets no unlock and there is no better or safer tool to unlock nokia handsets than genie. its the best unlocking tool weve purchased! unlocks in seconds, and you dont have to be an expert to use it either

you can sometimes kill nokia phones when unlocking with other tools - im sure youll find plenty of posts on the forum from unlockers with this problem. genie doesnt kill your phone even if it doesnt unlock the phone, so its safe to use on all nokia handsets. if you kill nokia handsets its very expensive to make live again thru rpl etc and time consuming too.

so its a great unlocking tool for nokia. and the product supporters are very helpful too - i know as theyve helped me when i 1st bought my genie
