HI, They have unlocked about the same amount of phone's as me = none. I have tried jaf/mt-box 8 and 10 pin cables, with convertor/without convertor, phone charger in/phone charger out, genie charger in/genie charger out, genie usb cable in/genie usb cable out and all combinations of them but still always error 1/error 5 or genie reboots. I, like them, have given up as its taking too much time to sort out. Br

I am sure that if you post detailed information and follow my instructions we can find the reason for your problems very quickly. If the situation is that desperate, send me pm, i will guide you via ICQ. But if you somehow imply that implementation of our unlock on other 3th party box is more stable then ours, i can't agree. Me and Dani have very bad experience, even to install one of those boxes takes hours - installing correct smart card drivers, fixing FTDI related USB problems, etc. In my view, if your cable is not extremely bad, should be easy to connect to the phone. Our implementation of the flashing/fbus protocol are Phoenix compatible. This is the reason that standart cables don't work sometimes. As usual somebody in China has tried to think and experiment with the cables in factory. Anyway, we test every update on as much as possible phones and devices we have in the office to minimize bugs, although i am not saying the device is not without bugs. Regards |

Unlocked about 15 phones. 6280, 6234, 5200,3110c, e65, 6300 e.t.c. Without problem. Only with one have problem. 6300 with small new flash ic. Not want with genie, give error. But all others work without problem. Only from genie batery, without supply, without usb cable. P.S. Upgrade your firmware also to last version. With last version genie not restart, work stable.

Member: 12578 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 60 | Hi, I managed to unlock a N95 yesterday after doing an update on genie clip, but the initial question wasn't telling you the software in the clip was not as stable but I think just to ask if you had thought about adding an optional pc based solution for your customers. This is the know error I found and troubleshoot with. Known errors: 1) Phone not in local mode. 2) "backup" error 0x03 3) "Uploading" error Trouble shooting: 1) For N95 and some other model, there is two different resistor to be use with different phone firmware/hardware version. So select 5.1k on the adaptor if phone unable to set to local mode. 2) To fix backup error, what you need is to reformat the SD card and re-upload fresh SD card content with Genieclient.exe. Also try to check on the "lock" and make sure it is "writable" 3) Uploading error, check mbus. Mainly poor cable causing this error. Hope this known errors will help you guys on it. Member: 4217 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 28 | The cables with 9v battery connectors seem to work alot better with genie. Also play with the resistance as xpmobile suggests, most seem ok with 5.1 but N80 for example i had to move up to the next switch |

If we make PC version, it will be basically the same bb5notp.exe with USB communication layer added. The PC soft will call usb device driver and just call the same 'Upload' menu in the application. As far as i can see the most problems are caused by bad cables, so the PC version will inherit those problems. The other option - to reimplement all in PC application and use the clip as USB to SPI convertor (JAF/UFS...) will not bring any benefit, as the actual HW interface is the same. Well, just my opinion. Regarding that charging problem, i am sorry, it was just problem caused by wrong thread priorities. I think it is sorted now. And i am still trying to get as much as possible feedback and improve stability of Genie and the unlock application. BR
