What CPU?

May I ask what CPU Genie contains, and how it is physically implemented (manufacturer, partnumber)? How is the 10pin port interfaced to the CPU?

Hi,

Genie CPU: ATMEL AT91SAM7X256 , we run it at 48 Mhz. The 10 pin port
is physically connected to the CPU (directly), except the 3 power supplies
(4 V, 5.2 V and 9.5 V for VPP).

In my view this CPU is the best choice for the given application. It took some
time to decide though. ARM9 would have been an overkill.

Thanks for the info. It looks like a good choice for an open platform.
