You CAN'T use pop-up cable for flashing,
pop-up cable allow following things:
-Probably unlock BB5 (NOT DCT4)
-Use with Phoenix to read informations from phone, resetting setting, testing etc
-Reading/Writing PM

Pop-up cable can be used for unlock
just need one small modification for this.
Need add mbus testpoint.
for unlock need RX,TX, Mbus line, V+ and bsi line.
I'am make cable with 3 conector(dcu2, miniusb and ca-101) with this one cable you can unlock all BB5 phones.
Not need keep lot of cables for unlock.
Without Mbus conected you can read phone state, and restore phone.
For unlock need mbus conection.

I assume your modification is based on this design discovered by blackshadow (AdvanceBox team) which GPI jungle cable is based on.

Hi,

Really nice idea, i haven't seen this schematic before.

Would be cool if somebody make universal Genie cable, with 10 pin connector
instead of 8 pin, so no need for adapter.

Also because of the free pins, we can have some digital potentiometer, SW
controlled from the Genie application itself. This will allow to adjust correct
BSI value and enter local mode easily.

Ive just tried it with straight jungle cable into genie adapter and it puts straight into local mode I also soldered lead with TP pin into Pop cable as convenient pad already available (green cable from rj45)
and again this goes into local made with + and bsi connected.
The TP goes to MBus pad on fone (usually the middle pad.
Havent got a phone to unlock to test but have tested jungle with other boxes so I see no reason for it not to work.

I havent made multi conector but have attched TP prode to use as unlocker. I attach video link but please excuse poor quality as I'm not used to doing videos and as you can see it took me longer to attach bsi clip than it took for genie to unlock

I have strange problem with 6210n. I made such a cable with ca-101 connector and successfully unlocked 5310 but with 6210n (phone is in local mode) I can't even read simlock status.
What's wrong?

Sounds like you putting TP on wrong pad. Are there only 7 pads showing or is there another line above?

I connected as on the picture. And tell me if MBUS is needed for reading info, bcos in 5310 I did read simlock status without MBUS.

Well it looks like correct pad, Ive not needed to connect mbus to read info. The only time this cable not work for me and gave wrong info was when I connected wrong pad on 6120c.
