V720 unlock question - GSM-Forum

Hi,

I tried today to unlock my very first phone using vodastar clip. It was a V720.

Used V810 USB datacable
turned on phone with NO SIM
conected vodastar clip V4.23 to pc (1 very fast green light blink)
conected cable to phone
press button, green light forever, phone lcd went pink.
couldnt unlocked with vodastar clip.
did it with pb2, wanted to try this clip...

can you tell me what I did wrong?

and also the quick manual has different instruction as the pdf version of the manual. Being as it is I have a very small suggestion:

can you add a help button on vodastar program and in there put those 10 lines? If you are gonna change the procedure to unlock with the clip, and the clip is meant to use it without internet.... put the info files on the program... is not a real big deal is it?

if u have update ur clip to latest version no need interent for unlocking

I have now updated to 4.24 as of today.

My question is in the first post. What did I do wrong?

Turn On phone with NO SIM
connect clip to pc,
connect phone to clip
press unlock button.

Screen went PINK... nothing happened, led allways green. Tried 2 more times... 2nd time got a red light, 3rd time green again.
Result: Phone not unlocked with clip
Solution (for me this time): unlock phone with pb2

I dont get to see many vodafone phones, and I allways forget to use the clip, to this day I havent unlock any phone with this clip, the few times I tried it I got some small problems and leave it be.

My suggestion was to put a HELP button with the instructions on the vodastar program so that I can check if I am doing it correctly.

I bought the clip in order to unlock vodafone phones, I still support the clip, even if I dont use it much.

@hugmax thnx for this idea about help button we will add in next updates
for unlock your v720 can u first check if phone IMEI is correct or not
2nd check pls if phone when u connect to computer can detect normal and stable or not
have many v720 canot detect easy as H/W problems
so pls be sure from this 2 things also be sure from your v720 cable and let me know the result

about V720, I think in the next few days I will get another one. As I said in my post, "I couldnt unlock it with vodastarclip, so I used pb2", cable is gpg´s bought it at ipmart.

I did some huawei modems today ( 2 x e156, 1 e220) and I am very satisfied with the clip.
