Galaxy I7500 unlock issue (Canada)

Hello,

First off I am totally new to this. Also, the reason I am trying to unlock my phone is a dropped it and it completely reset on me. I was unable to load up the OS. So being a techie with computers I thought I would give a firmware (mod) update try for the phone. Well it worked I was able to load up the new mod but now my phone has no cell service. It says it needs a Service Provider Control Key. I called my service provider and they were no help. Before I take it in to get repaired or buy I new one I thought I would give this a shot. Oh yeah, I just bought the damn thing too (oh well the price you pay for being a clutz). Anyways to my question(s):\

I purchase the 3 credits and all that jazz. I have installed the drivers for my phone. I have changed the phone to Debug mode. But for the life of me I cannot figure out the second step in the sprecial instructions:

2: Type: *#197328640# then 9 Common - 4 Diag-hfk_configuration - 1 Uart_null_usb_diag

I tried to put the number in the dialer and no luck. Am I missing something obvious? Or, from what I am gathering and reading I am screwed?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

TKB

From what I am reading I may have a brick now at least until a Bell Rom comes out. The phone I am using is a Galaxy but its model number is I7500L which apparently has different security then the I7500. So, I am guessing that isw why I am having issues unlocking using SRS.

Hi,

Your phone sounds more like it has hardware trouble.. We can not fix hardware trouble with software.. very different things.. so as long as the phone has hardware trouble our software isn't going to do much...

I enter numbers in the phone and nothing happens except an error stating no network access. Not sure what else to do except wait for a firmware (mod, rom) that works with Bell Mobility in Canada. Guess I got 3 credits I am never going to use now ha.

Not hardware any more the damage to phone was cosmetic. I managed to get a ROM to install but on the Bell Mobility Canada network that bricks the phone. Not sure what else to do.

then go 1 Uart_null_usb_diag

but as asked before.. i need to know your phones firmware release first
start phone without simcard and type *#1234# post me this info..

or even better.. tell me the link where you downloaded the firmware thats currently in the phone.. i need the firmware AMSS file to make an solution for it

I took out the sim card and tried dialing the number above with no luck. It still gives me the no network message.

The file I downloaded and installed was I7500XXIH8-PDA-CL53973-REV5(VIA).tar

I installed it as a one package using ODIN.

I added I7500XXIH8 support to the server, i also checked your modem code and when entering *#9090# on the phone (go to phone > Phone) and enter it as you enter a phone number you should get the diag menu

make sure there is no simcard inserted into the phone at that moment.

Galaxy I7500L - Any luck?

Hi,

I'm just wondering if you've made any progress on getting the I7500L unlocked with SRS yet.

Thanks.
