no you need an dual cable with com and usb together

if you have an servicebox like nspro, eub, ust etc you can also use the cable that came with that box, and use the box as interface

for example
NSPRO box with E210 cable works perfect for unlocking S5230 phone
in SRS Client select your nspro comport as COMPORT, and modem will be auto-detected while pressing RESCAN

if you use nspro box as interface you need to install the drivers for the phone

you can find them in c:\program files\samsung remote client\drivers\Mobile 1.0 Broadcomm driver

then in de client select as comport the port of your nspro box, and as modem the phone modem (make sure phone is in pc-studio mode !)

then click unlock, wait a moment, and voila phone unlocked and unfreeded

21:57:25 - Booting Phone

ERROR: PHONE NOT FOUND
Make sure your phone is in pc-studio mode and the correct modem port is selected. Also make sure you installed the phone drivers!

TIP: Press RESCAN Ports to see if BCM modem is found.

In system/device manager/comport there is no samsung detected but in universal serial bus controler there is samsung USB modem detected
