if you don't want go to work too much using rele' or transistor for the gestion of an external source just use a normal usb cable to get the additional power from an usb port and connect to the GND in one side and connect the VPP of the usb to the red twizeer which goes to the battery VPP once you disconnected it from the pcb inside the cable.
