bro i have done many n73 phones but this is the first time that i had a problem like this.
i use always tx2 adapter never had a problem like this thats why i wrote it here to see what else can be
the problem cause weird

Make the full PM back-up, thick where says skip sp info and click on unlock..
remember to sx4 bypass must be not thicked.

bro i always use sx4 bypass and never had this problem
i couldnt make full pm back up and rpl cause thats to strage
done many bb5 phones specialy n73 never seen this kind of problem

The SX4 bypass is not needed in the unlock..
It is only a risk, if anything goes wrong, to finish with imei 123456..
I can give you a suggestion but is up to you follow or not it.

Sx4 for bypass is to write PM 1 and 309 when you an't get the SX4 auth.. it is only for this.
back-ups are importand always.. keep doing that as save you from the troubles if anything goes wrong or help you a lot if the mobile come back messed up by the customer playing with NSU

For the SL1 mobiles, for the unlock, the essential thing is the PM back-up as nothing else is touched during the unlock.
If you have problems in creating rpl from phone, do read certs (So you have the certs back-up anyway and retry to read the rpl from the phone again.
