Please can you share,
what speed you get for your 5970 and the 6990.
I have 2 x 6990 and my speed is 8190 - 8200M/s
default config and fan running at 95%, some time i get code in 3hr, max 11hr.
please share your configuration with us.

Configuration is Normal with i5 processors..
But the thing is ..u r already getting good speed..with 2x hd6990 dont tweak much this will make them non stable

i have this values.
gpu clock: 725 mhz
memroy clock: 1000 mhz

fan speed: 80%
activity: 99%
temp: 72ºC
3.200
3 days 12 hours
is normal? the temp and anothers values?

it depends on your local temperature and on the main board
If the mainboard has at least 2 empty slots between the 2 cards and the case is well ventilated it wouldn't be essential.
Just be sure the cards go at the same clock or you will have code not found problems

i have 2 slot free between cards.

In your setup if you mix a 5970 with a 5870 something will change.
You need 2 different waterblocks for the setuo and you can't use the SLI ******** as they wouldn't go in line.
You can use a 5970 waterblock by EK in copper/acetal (cost about 100 pounds) and an xspc waterblock for the 5870 (about 40-50 pounds).
you will need 2 more 10mm (3/8\') 90° Angled Fitting G1/4 Rotary - Black Nickel With O-Ring and 2 more 1/4" BSPP - 3/8" ID - 1/2" OD Compression Fitting
All the part from dangerden can be cancelled.

Not really needed to go so far.. It is fine ad well the asus p7p55 ws supercomputer as mobo: 4 slots pci-e perfect for the crossfire.
Building a quite nasty system on it

Looks like, as well, with the drivers 11.7 AMD/ATI now supports 8 GPUs and are not needed any more neither the dummy plugs to make the lot working. I'll test this shortly.
The problem been finding a big case with at least 8 slots and support for 2 PSU and looks like I found it.

first 2 cards now arrived

I'll see if I can make working 4 of them in that case

(Target is 17.000 mh/s aka 1 mobile in max 16 hours and 20 minutes with a single computer)

Here r Mine ...in that case r 3 Vantilators...Big onces..and they work well for my country Pakistan ...each with 2x Hd6990

Am Using 1500W PSU ..and it works fine for now

with last ver of Oclhash is giving 7xxx MH/s...
With my collection have 40k MH/s...

eanugh for now...but thinking to Add more in short
