Thank's Mr.Ultimate for Your support and help , but I suppose , that with my cheap 2x ATI Radeon HD5850 1GB I can achieve maximum stable bruteforcing ,overclock them to 950MHz and max. time 2days 20 hours.

For 2x5870 don't REMOVE CROSSFIRE BRIDGES and don't discard them, install AMD VISION CENTRE and active CROSSFIRE .
I did all this! Anyway i disabled crossfire in ATI centre now i see 1 GPU 2 GPU. Which means it has recognised the 2 cards. However soon as i click 32bit bat file the computer turns off

I have wired 2 PSU's together and i get 1300 watt so more than enough power. Wonder what the issue is!

Now when i enable crossfire in ATI centre and click on the 32bit bat file it loads and says status cracked! it also says press any key to continue and when i press any key the command program closes down.

Status cant be cracked as it hasn’t even tried to bruteforce the IMEI yet.

Seems as though when I enable crossfire in ATI centre and click 32bit bat file computer shuts off

When I disable crossfire in ATI centre and click 32bit bat file it shows status as cracked and also says press any key to continue but there is no cod file and cards have not been used for bruteforce yet! So status is fake.

Any ideas what the problem is?

Problem resolved...the reason why i was getting the above issues (read my last 2 or 3 posts above) was because i placed the crossfire bridge on the wrong connector. I moved the crossfire bridge up to the first connectors on the card and now oclhashcat is now stable.

Well its kind of stable im getting readings of 81c on GPU 1 and 61c on the GPU 2.

Kind Regards

Why is the temp going up. it's now at 89c on the 5870 Asus!

Iv switched the cards around and the temp is still going up on The Asus graphics card.

The other card XFX 5870 stays at 63c and never goes any higher!

What is going on?

welcome to the real GPU STRESS TEMPERATURES LOAD world

since you used log2cod only in the past, it used to jump trough different add.r.e.s.es. while scanning, utilizing your GPUs different way, and interfering alot in the entire process progress hence the workload has never been stable even 99% either, gpus has never experienced the REAL GPGPU STRESS, but now since you use oclhashcat-lite - it runs without interruptions and utilizes GPU's at their top potential at all the time, so the temperatures appear as high as realistically they can be. You should consider to see if there is enough spacing for a free airflow to the card thats runing hot in no matter which PCIE slot, and check the card itself after if thermal GPU compound has to be replaced, because due to ageing of the thermal grease/compound it yields to be cleaned and reapplied (if you go this way, source yourself nice big tube of Arctic-MX3 GPU thermal compound, and re-apply it on the GPU IC crystal carefully after cleaning all the old residues from the GPU IC and the heatsink base plate touching the GPU itself)
Note, Primary Graphics card should always be ~ 5-15C' degrees hotter than the secondarry card so it works little harder managing the secondry cards process together with its own, hence there is extra process/extra heat generated

Hi, the spacing i can't do anything about that just the way the board is made unless i get water cooling but i only have 2x5870's and air flow should be good enough.

What i will do is use the card that is generating the most heat on it's own and see if the temps go up. If it doesn’t then this means it cant be the compound.

The Asus 5870 tweak edition i have (card gives you 50% more power than any other 5870) may not like oclhascat and maybe doesn’t respond well to this program! Im getting 89c and when it hits 90c program just shuts down.

Iv changed drivers from 11.11 to 11.9 and 11.1 and still same problem.

Also i will try oclhascat 5 and see what happens. If that doesn’t work i might just do a clean install of the OS system.

My guess is it might be a software problem or a driver issue. The other card i have XFX 5870 is a standard card and responds well 63c. But the expensive well made Asus 5870 and much longer in length gets as hot as my Kettle

Kind Regards

what spacing have you got exactly between cards? 1 slot? 2 slots? NO-SLOTS AT ALL?
on this tweak edition asus 5870

you will only get more speed if your 5870 is dual gpu ASUS ROG ARES version , like one displayed in pics above, which is equivalent to speed of single 5970, but just 3 times more expensive. Then there is no way but just sell it and get yourself few 5970s and nice more powerfull PSU maybe then, there are no liquid cooling made for them, unless you contact Let us help you be cool! and ask them to fabricate custom one for you as I seen prototypes made by them for this specific card, which has later developed to 5970 with simplier hardware design and more stability/less pricey.

Yes , Single card configuration will run cooler no mater which setup you take, as primary card manages other cards part process , the primarry will tend to stay hotter.

oclhashcat-lite closes automatically to prevent your card from BURNING, there is temperature watchdog set in the program to terminate before 90+ degrees temp is reached to cool down the equipment and save your expensive hardware from dumping to trash bin!
Of course you can disable this protection feature or raise your temperature to desired level by adding in command line:
--gpu-watchdog=0 THIS WILL DISABLE TEMPERATURE LIMIT/OVERHEAT PROTECTION

--gpu-watchdog=100
THIS WILL RAISE TEMPERATURE TO 100C' , use these features carefully, you can lower or lift the gpu protection limits by altering the number.

No necesitas comprar una PC nueva, a tu motherboard puedes instalarle una Placa de video como la Radeon HD 6990 ( o alguna de las listadas como compatibles )

ASUSTeK Computer Inc. - Motherboards- ASUS P7H55-M PRO

Tarjeta gráfica AMD Radeon

Te recomendaria que comieces a leer este hilo desde el primer post, y vas a ver que encuentras respuestas a practicamente todas tus preguntas.

2nd GPU Problem OCLHashcar 0.08

Hi

I have a problem with the speed of 2nd GPU in oclhashcat 0.08, the first GPU speed is 1450 and the second 180 when i don't connect a monitor. If i connect a monitor both speeds are the same (1450). I use a 6870 x2.

Any help??
Any "fake monitor" cheap solution??

Thanks
