you need a hacked phone with rompatcher installed

FOR N95 DO THIS:
download this:
Boot splash.zip splash.zip

put the C_sys_hash_domainsrv file in C/sys/hash
and remove C_sys_hash_ from the file name

put the F_sys_bin_domainsrv file in E/sys/bin
and remove F_sys_bin_ from the file name

put the patch domainsrv0.rmp in E/patches (dont apply it or auto start it)

get these splashscreens:
mifs for splashscreen,
240x320 for n95 ect
and 360x640 for 5800:

moremifs3.rar

put the splashscreen.mif in E/resource/apps
rename it splashscreen.mif
and turn your phone off
when you turn it back on the second lighter blue nokia splash will now show your image (the one before the nokia hands animation)

TO CHANGE YOUR N97 BOOTUP SPLASHSCREEN

download and extract this:

N97 splashscreen.rar splashscreen.rar

put C_sys_hash_domainsrv.exe in c/sys/hash then rename it to 'domainsrv.exe'

put F_sys_bin_domainsrv.exe in f/sys/bin and rename it 'domainsrv.exe'
then reboot phone

goto c/sys/bin and rename 'RPAutostart.exe' to '0RPAutostart.exe' (the number 0)

put c2z4bin_THUMB.rmp in e/patches and apply it with autostart

put SplashScreen.exe in c/sys/bin

and put SplashScreen.mif in c/resource/apps

there are various splashscreen mifs in the zip file, just view the jpeg images to see which one you want then rename the relevant mif to SplashScreen.mif (for startup) or SysAp.mif (for shutdown)

shutdown splashscreen.rar splashscreen.rar

put 'sysap.exe' in c/sys/bin

put 'sysap.mif' and 'sysap.r01' in c/resource/apps

put 'sysap_reg.rsc' in c/private/10003a3f/apps

and apply c2z4bin

(sysap.r01 is for english, if using a different language you probably need to copy your own sysap.r0* from 'z/resource/apps' instead)
