Erase file and erase flash procedure


Dear Br


Just somebody explain what is erase file and y do we have to use it and in which situation.

Also regarding SL3 phone erasing in mxkey can we completely erase or any thing need to be done b4 as precaution im just confused regarding the protected areas.

pls advice

You will lost everything if do erase whole flash. beware, make sure you have valid backup for both pm and rpl. erasing whole flash sometimes goes wrong and harder to fix it. sometime erasing is needed if you try normal flash but phone still in same condition (eg; user data not erased) but try first with another program to minimize the risks.

So if u have full rpl back up we can erase but wht abt pm i think this can be taken from any working phone right?

But let me tell u something that in mxkey there is option to select the address but is this really neccessary to do this wht im thinking is make complete back up make erase is this ok? ( pls explain RAP 0 & EEPROM erase area)
