R9 work for SL3 cluster? - GSM-Forum

Hi everyone.
I have a SL3 cluster, this work with OCL hashcat i have 6 computers and i make 10 cods for day, the next month i goin to buy 10 computers more and 20 gpu, but im not sure if the amd R9 work with ocl hashcat
any idea?

If you make 10 codes per day, then for sure you must know the answer of your question. If R9 cards are suitable to do SL3 bruteforce.

If you have some brain, then will not trust on anything just read. Buy a card ant test it itself.

Take a look over shot:

This is 1 x R9 290x on stock clocks, runing on SL3 BF - single Hawaii GPU core will give you 3,5 GHash / sec - amasing - like nearby 2 x 5870 ...

What is hard to make here?

P.S. 40 x R9 290x will bring you 1 SL3 code per hour ( on stock clocks !!! ) evenmore this card is veeery good for tuning - so - probably you can achieve a 1 hour codeback with 32 - 35 x R9 290x in cluster!

P.S.2 - R9 is so expensive to make SL3 BF - it cost near 500 euro, so in oposite side good "old" 5970 will give you SAME calculation power for 150 euro ( on second hand !!! ) ... mean - there no idea to use this ( R9 290x ) graphics card still for BruteForce.

we have:
10: 7970 saphire
1: devil 13 (a bad seller -_- this was buy for my boss)
1: 5990

is soo hard buy used video card you know sometime no work and very much problems.
the cost for the r9 i find $420 USD
and 7990 $380
and i ask for the r9 here because i dont use before the r9 and if the ocl hashcat 0.09 work with this card.

I can offer you 40 PCS of used 5970 - all in perfect working condition + watercooling ( new ) if you like ( 120 euro per pcs ) ...

oclhashcat-lite 0.9 not working with new R9 290x cards for all this you need use oclhashcat 1.0 and this ocl not work with any cloud server now then you will need play with it no easy job. If need only for sl3 and power cost is not a problem better buy from other users 5970 used becosue with new card R9 will got much problem to run all in cloud like MSM or other.

About speed R9 290x is this with Uber mode or with silence mode and you use latest 13.12 drivers becosue I think this is little to slow speed that I think.
In cgminer I see speed 1mhash/s and speed in sl3 I see same like 7970 with 1.1ghz core speed and this is not correct i think should be 36% faster.
