@muppet posted this at the time i had probs and went 100% for me 1) Open up a command prompt (Start -> Run -> type in 'cmd' and press enter) 2) Type in this: regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\scardssp.dll Press return and click on "Ok" with the box that pops up. 3) Type in this: scardsvr reinstall Press return. You'll get no message. 4) Rename the attached file from fix.txt to fix.reg and double click on it. When it asks if you want to install the settings say yes! 5) Go to Start->Settings->Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Services. Double Click Services. In the list you now see, find the Service called "Smart Card" (not Smart Card Helper) and right click on it. Select "Properties" and left click. When the box opens up, change the "Startup Type" to automatic. Click on "Apply" then on "Ok" 6) Reboot Your PC! Do not try to "test" Fighter before doing this step! Your Fighter should now work perfectly! I do hope this helps a bit long winded but it got mine working rgds | |

Member: 34652 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 5 | I just read the complete manual to install under XP (same as 2000) and they're talking about 'Drivers and OS Update' and download this file from the support page. But I can't find thta file anywhere on that support page. If I can get that file from somebody maybe I could go on installing Fighter. |

Well, you can even install that too but it won't be of any use to you.... Change the directory it installs to C:\Program Files\Fighter (Or whatever you prefer) and then copy the latest fighter4.33 exe file into that new directory. The new Cruiser install does everything, including making sure the SmartCard drivers are installed correct under Windows2000/WindowsXP. @Mastah-GSi: This new installer installs all the cable drivers for you. Follow above and you'll be fine. |

Member: 42570 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 11 | The Cruiser installer automatically sets everything up correctly, makes sure the SmartCard service is running properly and also installs the middleware. Basically it's an "all in one" package, the old preinstaller didn't do everything, you also had to remember to install the middleware etc. Basically, it's just easier |

Member: 88444 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | So, does it mean I can straight away install Cruiser 3.2 without installing the preinstaller? Also, @muppet, after installing cruiser software, you recommended fighter433.exe to be copied into the install directory. I just downloaded fighter443.exe, which is a self extracting exe file from the cruiser website. Do I just need to copy this self-extracting file into the install directory? |
