Can Cruiser fix this? "Open the Lens Cover" when it is open - GSM-Forum

I have a customer who just called and is going to bring in a W-800i today.

The problem is that when he tries to access the Camera (or Video Camera), it continually asks him to "open the Lens Cover" - even if the Cover is already open (screen is black regardless).

Is this something anyone has come across before, and would a simple flash help this, or is it hardware related.

hw problem, open tha back-cover and replace tha little switch

Thanks, I assume you mean this:

I opened it up, and the switch just fell out (the small thing with the lever). Is there anyway that is supposed to be secured to the frame, or does it just rest on top?

The switch is soldered/glued to the ribbon and the ribbon has a small amount of sticky to hold it to the plastic chassis..
If the pads are Ok you should be able to re-solder it, if not just buy a new ribbon, comes with new switch aswell

..
Not an expensive item and are widely available.. ebay included
