Cruiser doubt... does unlocking and/or changing language erases memory? - GSM-Forum

Hi,

Just tried to unlock a K700i and change language from another one...

I lost phone memory from both.... is it normal or is it something I did wrong??

have you flash only avr or arm/avr?

I used main and raw flashes... on both...

With old versions I used both, avr and arm, and there was no problem...

What do you mean under phone memory? FS zone should be overwritten when changing language, so, you will loose it's original contents.

I mean phonebook, musics, pictures, java stuff, configuration and personalization (shortcuts, etc)

When unlocking should I loose them too???

Unfortunately, I don't have Cruiser now and I can't check this, but I suppose, when unlocking only - everything should be preserved. When flashing main part - too. But if you flash FS part - all musics, pictures etc. will disappear.

Problem is to fill RSA area we must customize FS.... someone correct me if I am wrong

yes...same like almost all phones full flash done...but maybe in future features like "save phonebook,media etc..." will be inplemented...

anyway... when using logs all data is safe... so I think it can be improved... I already upgraded and unlocked using Griffin logs and never lost anything....

Let's wait and check what Lead will bring to us at next upgrade (the 1st one)...
