Which Type of Linux you tested, I mean REDHAT or some other Distro like Puppy or DSL.

I found that Wine can open few GSM-SOFT but system become very slow and cannot access COM or LPT or USB ports, Maybe needed some extra commands to get it FULL working.

Any suggestion will be GREAT HELP.

If it is possible I would be through Wine indeed. I haven't tried It my self so please post results. It would be really great if you succed.

The only reason why I have XP installed on my system is due to my unlocking business.

If I could unlock phones in Gentoo I would be thrilled...

Best regards

Martin

If i can use all UNLOCK+FLASH softwares in LINUX(any distro).I will never use win/xp.
As all other normal functions works well in most of Linux's.
1. can play almost all type of Audio/video files (including *.3gpp).
2. can use my Internet
3. can use my IM's (gmail/msn/yahoo)
4. can open *.pdf
5. can play DVD
6. can open/edit most type of images
7. can Burn DVD/CD.

So only Unlocking+Flashing is required in Linux to say GOOD-BYE to BILL GATES.

Thanks for the tipp about Wine, and a totally agree with Ashwani Gaur, that is the only thing that i still use that horrible plataform, the future would be very nice if we had all this gsm tools with a linux equivalent... that would be heaven to us...
I will try here the wine and I will post the results later...

I've found this old tread. Sorry if I'm late but i didn't see it before.

I don't use anymore Windows Operating Systems, I'm using Suse 10 and with VmWare virtual machine you can run any copy of windows in a linux desktop enviroment. When virtual machine is started, any device attached to usb are detected by virtual windows automatically. Just install proper drivers and start flashing or unlocking procedure ! BTW, now vmware player is free.

Vmware player
