Member: 21920 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 10 | DSS-25 and Cruiser users- attachment issues? I decided to get a DSS-25 since the Pro upgrade so I could use it in conjunction with my Figher cable. Worked great on my v800. Today I had a customer's T616 and it would not attach. Several bypass attempts, then Cruiser 2.20b suggests I try again without the battery. I tried this and no progress at all. I also tried to do it again the same way and with T616 selected instead of auto. Same results. Attached 100% OK with the Fighter cable after that. I thought it was a bit strange... Do I need to change the communication speed or drivers somehow? The T616 always attaches slowly in my experience, so I don't know if it will be the same with other models but the DSS just came so I have not tested many phones with it yet... |

Member: 21920 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 10 | Yes... I tried moving it around to be sure it was connected well. Cruiser attempts to bypass and eventually hits a scripting error and asks to try without the battery. I need to do it again and get the exact error message. 115200 is very slow- much slower than a Figher cable per se. Maybe I am attempting to transfer data too fast through the DSS. I will give that a shot too. Strange thing is that it worked with the V800 though. If all else fails, I'll try Manual Ignition, but I hope that is not necessary. Thanks for the advice, guys. |

Member: 21920 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 10 | Had the same problem again today with T237. I lowered the speed for T610/Z600 to 460800 and it seems to be helping. @Lead Could you possibly implement different baudrate settings for each device/port? My Fighter cable can still do higher speed and it would be nice to be able to use it at high speed and the DSS at slower speed at the same time. Thanks!! Attached is a screenshot... |

Member: 15184 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 4 | I had Old cable and modified it, mounted the 2 resistors to make enhanced cable. After i desolder the resistors seems that everything work ok!!! It made erorrs also on gdfs writing, but now seems to work ok, on same phone! Does someone have full schematic of cable modification? |

Member: 21920 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 10 | Here is the guide for making enhanced cables: http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/show...ght=cable+easy (c) Invisible By the way, I found that with t68 series phones, I needed to set my DSS-25 to 230000 to bypass. It seems the DSS just can't communicate at as high speeds as the regular Fighter cable/UC10. @Lead Any idea if different speed settings for each com port would be possible?? |

Member: 42570 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 11 | I've got a DSS-25 attached to my laptop. I don't have the P800/P900 software installed, just the DSS and it's associated driver. I find when I try to attach a phone, as soon as I put the phone on the cradle it starts to charge. If I click "charger on" in Cruiser then the phone STOPS charging. But I'm unable to attach of course as Cruiser won't let you do anything when the charger is on. As soon as I click "Charger Off" the phone starts charging again. Anyone else seen this? It's really weird. I've rebooted the laptop, reinstalled the drivers and bashed the DSS with a stick, it still did it. It's not really an issue anymore as I have some new Fighter Cables now, but I'd love to know what caused it. @evan: Different speeds for each port is a great idea. |

Member: 21920 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 10 | @muppet Do you have the power connected to the DSS-25? I don't. Just the USB. I only installed the drivers that Windows asked for when I first plugged it in. On mine, the LED is off until I press attach in Cruiser. Then it is on until I detach the phone/Finalize GDFS/Shutdown FS/etc. Have you tried more than one phone? I have seen lots of t68 series phones that show charging with any data cable (Fighter cable, clip, terminator, etc)... |

Member: 15184 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 4 | I opened old cable again and measure on point indicated by Invisible and it was 5.1V , now i soldered resistance on 3.3V regulator and i hope that will be ok, i don`t have phone to test only T300 which i see that works well gdfs and avr flasing! By the way, does someone know the differece between DSS-20 and DSS-25? Does DSS-20 have to be modified like fighter old cable? Thank you |

Member: 42570 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 11 | @evan: Yea, I should have mentioned I didn't have the power cord plugged in, only the USB. I tried it on a couple of different phones and it wouldn't work. I have used the same DSS on another PC before though without problems now I think about it. It certainly wasn't the phone, I tried a couple of different ones and they all gave me the same problem, yet I could attach to each of these phones with my Fighter cable. I'll do some more experiments later today and see if I can figure it out. |
