Problems connecting to W600i with UC-10

Hi!

Have a W600i in my possession that I need to unlock.
Trying to connect to the phone is not possible with my UC-10 cables.

When cruiser says powering on phone, the phone starts charging, and nothing else happens. Have tried different USB-ports, one on a hub with external power, and also directly in the computer. Even tried a second computer, but phone never enters bootstrap, it just starts charging.

Battery on the phone is almost full.

Have tried the "jumpstart" theory, by inserting battery when Cruiser says:
"Connecting via UC-10 Universal Cable...
Powering on the phone..." but this is as far as I get. It just sits at that point, charging the phone.

Have tried both v8.11 and v9.22, same result.

Is this a cable problem, or am I doing something wrong?

The connector is clean, since this is an almost new phone.

Would external power on the clips make a difference?
If so, what voltages are recommended 3v, 5v, 9v?

These Cruiser cable works with other Ericsson phones for the regular connector (the one that is on almost all phones, i.e. T610, z500 a.s.o), so if it is a cable problem, it must be the "k750"-part of the connector that is bad, since I have not used that piece previously with any phone.

Hello, just read your T610 post too.

I get these problems from time to time and reboot pc might help.

T610 part is probably firmware version - early CID27/29 later firmware usually boots quite quick - ie, same phone but firmware upgraded.

Also, is phone new or just new to you and therefor tampered with previously (probably not but just a thought).

Sorry I don't have a real solution - maybe Cruiser is getting too big and needs to branch off into CID groups...

...early phone CID's to 36 and later phones CIDs 36 up.

Don't know though - but that might help in trouble shooting even for Lead

I usually use 9V battery.
But it is recommended to use 3V
But I find it easier to attach to phone using 9V

Well, the phone (W600i) is supposedly untampered, at least according to the owner (and he is trustworthy, at least to my knwledge). It powers on, and works normally except for this problem with not wanting to boot into bootstrap. A reboot did not change anything.

It is very new, date of manufacturing is 06W01 and it is Cingular branded/locked.

For the T610 issue (http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/show....php?t=277433), rebooting did not help on that one either, and I booted it using EMMA-card, and it is now unbranded/unlocked.

I can probably find another T-mobile branded phone, if needed. I think it might have to do with the firmware being really old, it does not have RSA on it.

Stupid question, but red crocodile goes on positive + on 9V battery, right?

Better to be safe than sorry!

Do I leave the battery on throughout the procedure, or only during boot?

The 9v battery sure did the trick! Thanks Nizze!

Phone now brown and unlocked!

Is there any standard FW available for this phone (non-branded), as I can only find Cingular FW on the support pages.
