SIM card in/out

Hi !

I used Div 5.0 before couple times and ended up with 4-locks closed. So, I decided to go with a better professional device - SE-Fighter. Thanks to the veteran SE-Fighter users' advise.

I was reading the fighter help file. It says, "turn off the phone and connect it to the fighter". Do I need to keep the SIM card in the phone while performing unlock/flash operations?

I know that with Div LPT 5.0, the SIM card should be removed.

Also, what option to select in fighter, if I want to unlock network in T616 (non-RSA). Do I need to use "read all codes" OR "direct unlock"?

Thanks in advance.

The SIM Card being removed I think has been something I accidently started after I posted a "HowTo" on cellular-support way back in the days.
It was based on readings I'd done from others, so I just posted it too.

Turns out it was total crap. I don't bother removing the SIM Card anymore and I've never had a single problem. Leave it in, nothing bad will happen.

Thanks Muppet !!!

What's your take on unlock non-RSA T616 phone. Do I need to use "Read all codes" or "direct unlock".

After using one of the above mentioned procedures do I need to do anything else ? (just for unlocking).

Thanks

T610®/T618/T616 - Remove Operator Customization
Check phone firmware version using the >*<<*<* key sequence. If the phone menu freezes, there is usually something wrong with the ARM part of phone firmware.
Turn off the phone and attach Fighter to the phone.
Go to the GDFS page of the Control Window. Press "Write to GDFS from file" button (5), a file-open dialog appears. For T610® and T618 phones select the file "T610 decustomize new.mdc" and press OK. Wait until the GDFS file gets transferred to the phone.
Detach the phone by clicking the "Finalize GDFS" button in the GDFS page of Control Window, removing the battery from the phone and disconnecting the phone from cable.

T610®/T618/T616 - Fully Rebuild GDFS Security Zone
Turn off the phone and attach Fighter to the phone.
Go to the Security I page of the Control Window.
You may change any of the security zone I parameters. These include: phone IMEI (8), network unlocking codes (1), network code (3), number of unlocking attempts (2), frequency bandlock (5) and few other options (4).
Ensure yourself the option "Directly write to GDFS" (7) is checked (otherwise an MDC file would be created instead of direct writing to GDFS).
Press the "Create security zone I" button (8).
Detach the phone by clicking the "Finalize GDFS" button in the GDFS page of Control Window, removing the battery from the phone and disconnecting the phone from cable.

Unlock

I don't want to flash firmware, remove customization or rebuild GDFS. I just want to unlock the phone.

Either read codes or rebuild security zone works fine.
