T610 ident change - GSM-Forum

Hi
Can anybody give me advice, please, how to change Identifier on T610? I do manage to change GDFS one, but it doesn't match OTP and when I try to change OTP, Fighter says that it had been programmed already.

And I have a customer with this phone (cover and body changed to the T630's) and he asks if I can change something, so it will appear on the screen when you check firmware that it is "T630" not "T610". Screen is old T610's. Is it posiible? Any ideas?

Hi,

You must to GDFS --> Phone Ident change --> [enter phone ident] --> Click on "Modify GDFS" --> Click on "Finalize GDFS"

Wrong wrong wrong,
You have to make following,

1. Flash AVR ''Tick the Disable OTP IMEI Check''
2. Flash ARM with same version as ''AVR''
3. Upload a new gdfs value, (not necessary but it may help)
4. Enter the digits you want to edit, tick the ''Auto Incementing'' option and then click, ''Create Security Zone''

Do you know anything about the second problem I have (T610 appearing like T630)??

You need to go to the GDFS tab, then go to the dropdown menu on the lower part of the left pane. You should see an option there like Phone Type Descriptor or something. Click it, then the box shows T610. Backspace it and write T630 then write it to the phone. PRESTO!

If you replace the screen and flash it you can make it INTO a t630

also cover & housing ... he he he but the phone is very cheap at this moment in sweden you can get it for 150euro locked with Vodafone why spend so much to build an T610 to a T630

He already has the housing and keys on it... just add the screen and flash!

Sounds to me like they're trying to disguise a stolen phone (changing IMEI and the physical cover)!

I don't think so. I don't think he ever wanted to change the IMEI. I think he meant identity as the phone's model number.

The customer wanted to make his phone into a t630 I think....

Correct me if I'm wrong

My first impression: he wants to sell t610 for the price of t630. He didn't mention about t630 features, ONLY firmware identity

In this case I suggest add_my_friends gdfs without changing the display.
Don't take me seriously, I'm just fooling around..

That's right.
I don't think hi is going to sell it as T630, because he would need the box and serial number plastic plate under the battery. Also the price isn't much different.
Anyway, its not my business.
About the IMEI change - it is currently illegal in the UK, so I never get involded.
