T637 firmware on Fighter support site

There is a T637 firmware on the Fighter support site, and something might be wrong with it. Today I installed a T630 LCD into a T616, and flashed the T637 firmware to it. The phone would not even power up. As soon as I flashed R4C003 (T630) to it (and changed the bandlock to 1900), it worked fine.

So, either that firmware is corrupt, or it doesn't work with the T616/T610. This would be a bad thing, because I'd love to have 850MHz AND the better screen on my T616.

It appears that the file was uploaded on March 4th. I guess that seems a little early for that firmware. Perhaps it's a beta?

Cany anyone shed some light as to where this file came from, and what it really is?

Thanks!

Global Mobility (www.globalmob.com) sells them now for $45US/each. They are in high demand, and are usually out of stock. I was lucky enough to get one before he ran out, though he is getting more in stock soon.

I must say, the screen is amazing!

This new T637 firmware does NOT work on the T616, just like the old one. Looks like we've got a bit of an issue here. The phone simply will not power on after flashing it...

Is there some kind of GDFS check that requires the T637 GDFS to be on the phone in order to use this firmware? I was assuming it was the same as the T630 firmware, which DOES run on the T616.

Let's all put our heads together and figure this one out. I want a T630 LCD in my T616 with the T637 firmware, and so do A LOT of other people...

No GDFS on the site yet... Just waiting on SphereGSM. Also, I am not sure if they will be uploading the whole GDFS, or just a decustomization script...

Lead/Eerchant: Is the T637 GDFS necessary in order to use this firmware on a T610/T616/T630 ???

I have a feeling that USA carriers will get the t637 soon... when they do I will capture GDFS for you (although it will probably be customized)... but in the meantime I don't have one to use....

If you don't mind me asking, what tool do you use to capture the GDFS?
