Universal cables? - GSM-Forum

OK, I'm new to all this stuff. So a couple of basic questions, I would like answered.
I have a laptop, can I flash and unlock mobiles with it? I dont really want to spend the money buying clips and boxes when I could use my laptop.

If I can use my laptop, what is the best software, or collection of software for unlocking all types of mobiles. Where will I find this software?

And again if it is possible to use my laptop, what cables should I invest in? I have been told cruiser for Sony E's but what about the other mobile types?

Basically I want to use my laptop as a universal unlock system, with cables for all models.

Are you talking buying proper tools, as long as you have USB ports, LPT,port (smart clip) and serial port (com cables) you can do any thing,
oh and internet connection..

OK, so it can be done by a laptop wih USB and serial ports.

What cables should I buy?
And what software is the best?
