i think gpg jtag..but as for flashing only its free u can do hard reset or download free roms..but for dead boot repair and unlocking i think u need a box..gpg jtag plus xtc clip

Jtag is the last need ! when phone is Software Bricked ! if u are asking about flashing/ updating ! then windows based and android based phones have slight diffrence method to handle ! better read how to root, s-off, s-on in htc section ! if u want to flash custom rom !

all easy depends on your sodering and iq. many phones has no easy adapter so which ever
jtag you have you must use your head to link the respective pinouts and apply the software settings required, same method.
