Here's a Quick tutorial and how to make the Root more efficient:

Turn "USB Debugging" Off
Click Root
When it says: Waiting for Device, Turn "USB Debugging" On

all flavors are supported from Cupcake till Froyo , basically the program does the same as "SuperOneClick" whats new here is just NAND phones support witch had to use "Unrevoked" to root it , now we have both in one.

Yes, its possible to get Unlock code from Samsung Captivate

did you flash it ? what happens when you go through the configuration procedures ?
