@helpful-man,.:::SM PRINCE:::.

He not say your solution not work
Normally when we format any of mtk phone,imei get erased with that,but can be repair easily with meta tool and some others.
About baseband unknown in kitkat is true but only when you flash lower version.

Infinity from some time can reset Privacy Password without any damage of secure storage, baseband, without reflashing and repair.
In fact - it like factory reset and nothing more.

This worked for me. I tried several times with no luck using the steps on the Doogee Website - but was missing the auto-format step detailed here.

Also, once complete my phone kept giving error "com dot android dot phone has stopped" (sorry for some reason they wont let me post a namespace with dots) - this is fixed by turning off 'automatic time zone - use network provided time zone' - this was causing the error.

SO to recap -use the post by Helpful Man (on page one - not the IMEI stuff) follow the screenshots. I used the drivers, sp tools and rom from the Doogee website

I also got mislead by thinking the usb drivers didnt work - because if I plugged my phone into the usb before using the SP tool, then I heard it connect then disconnect - this is actually correct. As you should only connect it once you have clicked on the Download button in the SP tool - this holds the connection to the phone open.

Thank you so much to helpful-man and everyone else. I really appreciate it!!!!

Kind Regards
Tim
